Nathan and I had the opportunity to meet with Jenny and Ben this past weekend for dessert as they past through Greensboro. Jenny and I knew each other when we were about 13 years old and were friends while her family lived here in Greensboro until they moved away. Jenny and I would spend hours making cards, like Christmas and birthday cards. I think we lost touch then and finally started emailing each other several years later. I don't think we've seen each other since they moved (not sure when that was - Jenny, do you remember?), so it was really great to finally meet again. Also, we hadn't met her husband, Ben, so that was cool too! It's great how we can stay in touch with people better today, through email and blogs. She has a great blog too, it's on the side there - Jenny . It was fun to catch up, have dessert (a HUGE piece of chocolate cake!!) and be out late! Next time they pass through, we expect them to spend the night with us and visit awhile!! : )

Rachel - Sorry, I have been out of the blog loop lately! I do think that I visited with you maybe once in late high school while in G'boro, but that would've been in about 1998 or 1999 or so at the latest, so it's been a good 8-10 years! I think we fell back in touch again after Ben and I got married in '04, although with everyone's hard drives on their computers crashing (ours once, and yours once or twice), I think it was interesting trying to maintain the e-mail contact. The advent of blogs has had a serious effect on staying in touch, I think!! (By the way, that chocolate cake was the hugest piece I've seen in my life!!) -Jenny
